TAPROBANE (SRI LANKA). Imitations of Late Roman Bronzes. Circa 5th century. AE (Bronze, 14 mm, 1.19 g), probably imitating a follis struck by one of the sons of Constantine I. Laureate, draped and cuirassed Roman imperial bust to right. Rev. Uncertain design. Cf. MACW 5166 (for similar type). A particularly wild imitation. Minor deposits, otherwise, about very fine.
